Bank Muscat inks MoU with Al Aman Centre

MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, as part of its ‘Let’s Do More’ vision and commitment to partnershi­p on sustainabl­e developmen­t aimed at delivering long-term benefits to the community and the nation, has signed a Memorandum of Understand­ing (MoU) with Al Aman Centre for the Handicappe­d in Al Khoudh for developing a football field with artificial grass.

The centre provides therapeuti­c and rehabilita­tion services aimed at integratin­g physically challenged children into mainstream society. By the end of June 2017, the centre had enrolled 318 children, of whom 207 were in the age group below 15 years and 111 above 15 years. The centre regularly conducts programmes to raise awareness on disability issues and how to deal with them.

The support for Al Aman Centre complement­s the bank’s Green Sports initiative to promote Oman as a sporting nation. The Green Sports initiative launched by Bank Muscat in 2012 has gained momentum with 78 sports teams across the Sultanate benefiting from the support to green their fields till date.

The gesture benefiting children with special needs is aimed at helping them overcome challenges and integrate with the mainstream society. Bank Muscat is committed to supporting and helping the physically challenged to lead normal lives and thereby contribute to society. The bank is sensitive to the needs of physically challenged people and a true partner in supporting their needs.

Since its inception, the Corporate Social Responsibi­lity department of the bank has taken major strides in social developmen­t. All CSR programmes draw from the bank’s values of leadership and partnershi­p, creating a positive impact on society. As the bank progresses on the path of sustainabl­e developmen­t, new opportunit­ies are explored to support society through various initiative­s.
