MUSCAT: A serious fire at an all-girls school resulted in 14 people being treated for smoke inhalation and prompted safety warnings over air-conditioni­ng MUSCAT: Residents in Oman could win a brand new iPhone 8, if they download the brand new Bayie app.

Now out for the iPhone and Android, the app is the latest expansion from Bayie.com, which enables those who live in the Sultanate to buy and sell essential items in an online marketplac­e.

To celebrate the launch of the app, Muscat Media Group and Bayie.com are giving away a free iPhone, every week, for the rest of the year. All residents need to do to enter the competitio­n is download the app and post an ad on Bayie.com, through the app.

With a plethora of items available for sale, including household items, electronic­s, home and garden appliances, and even automobile­s, Bayie.com and its new mobile app offers everything to meet the needs and wants of Oman’s residents.

Also on offer are services for hire, such as drivers, nannies, cooks and gardeners, offering their expert skills to those who require them, and Richard Pakenham, chief sales officer at the Muscat Media Group, is thrilled to see Bayie.com, which was launched in June of this year, take this massive step forward.

“Since launching Bayie.com a few weeks ago we have seen many tens of thousands of Oman’s residents visit the website to post their unwanted things for sale and free up cash to buy other stuff,” he said.
