Mus­cat bourse edges up on bet­ter sup­port

MUS­CAT: Oman’s bench­mark MSM30 In­dex ended on a sta­ble note at 4,966.65 points, up 0.16 per cent. The MSM Sharia In­dex gained 0.29 per cent to close at 724.71 points. Gal­far En­gi­neer­ing was the most ac­tive in terms of vol­ume as well as turnover. With a gain of 5.71 per cent, Gal­far En­gi­neer­ing was the top gainer while NBO was the top loser, down 2.69 per cent.

A to­tal num­ber of 748 trades were ex­e­cuted on Sun­day, gen­er­at­ing turnover of OMR1.89 mil­lion with 14.05 mil­lion shares chang­ing hands. Out of 30 traded se­cu­ri­ties, 16 ad­vanced 6 de­clined and 8 re­mained un­changed. At the end of the trad­ing ses­sion, Lo­cal In­vestors re­mained net buy­ers for OMR111,000 fol­lowed by For­eign In­vestors for OMR86,000 while GCC & Arab in­vestors were net sell­ers for OMR197,000 worth of shares.

Fi­nan­cial In­dex closed at 7,128.74 points, up 0.35 per cent. Al Shar­qia In­vest­ments, Gulf In­vest­ment Ser­vices, Oman & Emi­rates Hold­ing, Al An­war Hold­ing and Al Mad­ina Taka­ful gained 5.05 per cent, 4.29 per cent, 2.63 per cent, 2.42 per cent and 2.04 per cent re­spec­tively. NBO and Bank Dho­far de­clined 2.69 per cent and 0.50 per cent re­spec­tively.

In­dus­try In­dex ad­vanced 0.44 per cent to fin­ish at 6,693.67 points. Gal­far En­gi­neer­ing and Oman Fish­eries in­creased 5.71 per cent and 3.54 per cent re­spec­tively. Al Jazeera Steel and Voltamp En­ergy lost 1.15 per cent and 0.36 per cent re­spec­tively.

Ser­vices In­dex ended at 2,510.83 points, up 0.19 per cent. Na­tional Gas, OIFC and Oore­doo gained 3.70 per cent, 1.55 per cent and 1.53 per cent re­spec­tively. Port Ser­vices and Oman­tel de­clined 1.12 per cent and 0.86 per cent re­spec­tively.
