US Em­bassy launches its annual ‘Dis­cover Amer­ica 2017’ cam­paign

This year the US Em­bassy is part­ner­ing with Lulu Hyper­mar­kets in Oman, Oman Av­enues Mall and the Oman Amer­i­can Busi­ness Cen­ter for two weeks’ worth of ‘Dis­cover Amer­ica 2017’ events and pro­mo­tions to show­case the best of Amer­i­can brands and Amer­i­can herit

MUS­CAT: The US Em­bassy in Oman launched yes­ter­day its annual ‘Dis­cover Amer­ica 2017’ cam­paign, a two-week pro­gramme de­signed to pro­mote Amer­i­can busi­nesses in Oman as well as to cel­e­brate US-Omani part­ner­ships and bi­lat­eral ties be­tween the peo­ple of the United States of Amer­ica and Oman.

The US Em­bassy part­ners each year with Lulu Hyper­mar­kets in Oman to pro­mote Amer­i­can food prod­ucts for the ‘Dis­cover Amer­i­can Food Week.’

Now, in 2017, the em­bassy is part­ner­ing with Lulu Hyper­mar­kets in Oman, Oman Av­enues Mall, and the Oman Amer­i­can Busi­ness Cen­ter for two weeks’ worth of ‘Dis­cover Amer­ica 2017’ events and pro­mo­tions to show­case the best of Amer­i­can brands and Amer­i­can her­itage – and to ‘Bring a lit­tle bit of Amer­ica to Oman’, as the US Em­bassy states.

The en­tire event kicked off with a spe­cial evening at the Sky Lounge Bal­cony on Oman Av­enues Mall’s third floor, where guests were able to in­dulge in Amer­i­canstyle canapés made with Amer­i­can in­gre­di­ents from Lulu – the spon­sor of the evening – and cre­ated by stu­dents from the Na­tional Hos­pi­tal­ity In­sti­tute. Stephanie Hallett, the Deputy Chief of Mis­sion for the US Em­bassy in Oman, was present for the evening, which al­lowed for ex­clu­sive net­work­ing, the sam­pling of great food, and the en­joy­ment of breath­tak­ing views from the Sky Lounge Bal­cony.

The high point of the cam­paign will be on Novem­ber 2, when Marc J. Siev­ers, US Am­bas­sador to Oman, will in­au­gu­rate the ‘Dis­cover Amer­ica 2017’ clas­sic car show with a rib­bon-cut­ting ceremony at Oman Av­enues Mall.

This show will be a cel­e­bra­tion of fa­mous ‘All Amer­i­can’ vin­tage and clas­sic cars, mus­cle cars, and ad­ven­ture-themed of­froad ve­hi­cles, and will con­tinue un­til Novem­ber 4.

Fa­mous brands like Mus­tang, Ca­maro, and Jeep Wran­gler will be in the mix, and the US Em­bassy has also con­firmed par­tic­i­pa­tion from Amer­i­can au­to­mo­bile deal­ers who will show­case Ford, Chevro­let, Cadil­lac, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and GMC ve­hi­cles, along with bikes from Har­ley Davidson, Polaris, and also a mo­bile mo­torhome from Oman Mo­torhomes. There will also be a show­case of vin­tage Amer­i­can cars from the Clas­sic Car Club.

Lulu Hyper­mar­kets will also run its ‘Dis­cover Amer­ica 2017’ cam­paign to pro­mote the best of Amer­i­can prod­ucts among cus­tomers in Oman. The event, which will be held across select Lulu out­lets in Oman, will show­case a wide va­ri­ety of prod­ucts spe­cially flown in from the United States, from Novem­ber 5 – 12.
