Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations on Nov. 11
MUSCAT: MSK Shelters collaboration with SAAS Events is presenting the 61st Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations on November 11 at Al Falaj Hotel Auditorium, Muscat.
The event will be attended by Dr Shiva Rajkumar, the guest of honour, named Hatrick Hero by his fans, and whose evergreen contribution to the Kannada film industry has spanned over three decades and over 100 movies. He has given us notable movies such as Anand, Ratha Sapthami, Mane Mecchida Huduga, OM, Janumada Jodi, Killing Veerappan, Shivalinga and much more which have created milestones and box office records in the Kannada Film Industry. He has also been conferred honorary Doctorate from the Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University. He is the recipient of four Filmfare and four state awards in the best film category.
Dr Shiva Rajkumar is the eldest son of Padmabhushan Dr Rajku- mar who is widely acclaimed as one of the finest actors of the Indian film industry. Popularly known as Annavaru, Dr Raj Kumar is a legend in Kannada film industry known not only for his films but also for his very disciplined life professionally and personally. Dr Rajkumar is also the recipient of Padmabhushan, Dada Sahab Phalke Award and Kananda Ratna Award other than the numerous awards and achievements he received in his lifetime.
A musical extravaganza - ‘Ninna Mareyalare’ is organised by passionate music lovers which will be presenting Vijay Prakash, Indian film composer and extremely talented singer from the Kannada industry and favourite judge of the Kannada talent show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma’ treating the audience to Dr Rajkumar’s huge repertoire of songs and enchanting with his magical voice. Some wonderful singers from the Kannada community in Muscat will also join him in the performance. He has enthralled the audience not only in Kannada industry but also in Hindi film industry and other languages. He is one of the singers credited for the song Jai Ho which won the 2008 Academy Award for Best Original Song and the 52nd Grammy Awards for best song written for a motion picture. He won the recipient of numerous awards including the film fare best male playback singer awards.
