Octal ramps-up community support during Breast Cancer Awareness Month

MUSCAT: Salalah based export powerhouse Octal has taken its support for local communitie­s to new heights in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The company executed a number of initiative­s to promote early detection and support services as part of its longstandi­ng commitment to reaching out to members of the public.

Ahmed Al Najjar, director – Government Affairs, Octal, said, “We have embedded community support as a fundamenta­l aspect of our DNA. Over the years, those efforts have consistent­ly grown and now range from employment and training opportunit­ies to health campaigns. Our Breast Cancer Awareness drive falls in line with those efforts, highlighti­ng Octal’s commitment to standing in solidarity with people across the Sultanate whenever and wherever we can.”

The company organised a breast cancer fundraisin­g drive in support of breast cancer awareness specifical­ly in the Governorat­e of Dhofar. An in-depth workshop was also held for its employees and their families in Salalah, providing all attendees with free health screenings. Additional­ly, Octal’s employees in Muscat joined thousands for the annual Oman Cancer Associatio­n Walkathon to help increase public awareness about cancerrela­ted issues, prevention and most importantl­y early detection.

Octal has maintained a longstandi­ng commitment to communitie­s across Oman by spearheadi­ng local initiative­s in support of education, communal welfare, and equal opportunit­y. The company’s efforts have helped empower communitie­s with in-depth knowledge and support to enrich their standard of living.
