MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, as part of its ‘Let’s Do More’ vision and commitment to partnership on sustainable development aimed at delivering long-term benefits to the community and the nation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al Wafa Centre for Disabled Children in the wilayat of Bidbid for developing a football field with artificial grass.

The centre provides therapeutic and rehabilitation services aimed at integrating physically challenged children into mainstream society. The support for Al Wafa Centre complements the bank’s Green Sports initiative to promote Oman as a sporting nation. The Green Sports initiative launched by Bank Muscat in 2012 has gained momentum with 78 sports teams across the Sultanate benefiting from the support to green their fields till date. Marking the seventh year of the unique CSR initiative, the bank is presently receiv- ing applications from sports teams to support the development of 15 football fields in 2018.

As a forward-looking financial institution, Bank Muscat is at the forefront in contributing to society and thereby setting a fine example for the corporate sector to develop social responsibility as corporate culture. The bank is sensitive to the needs of physically challenged people and a true partner in supporting their needs.

Since its inception, the Corporate Social Responsibility department of the bank has taken major strides in social development.
