ISWK, ISM score big victories

MUSCAT: A scintillating unbeaten century by Jeel Tanna helped Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir (ISWK) defeat Indian School Ghubrah (ISG) by 143 runs in an Under-16 clash at Muscat Municipality Ground IV on Saturday.

Asked to bat first, ISWK scored 275 for three in 30 overs, Jeel leading the way with an 89-ball 131. Yash Toprani (64) and Joel Biju (45) were the other notable contributors.

In reply, ISG found themselves wobbling at 56 for six and finally folded up for 132 in 26th over. Vrishab Gladwin’s 46 was the only batting highlight of ISG’s forgettable outing. Nihal Poojari claimed three wickets while Swasthik Sundara bagged two.

Brief scores: ISWK 275 for 3 in 30 overs (JeelTanna 131 n.o., Yash Toprani 64, Joel Biju 45) bt 132 all out in 25.5 overs (Vrishab Gladwin 46; Nihal Poojari 3/38, Swasthik Sundara 2/26).

ISM thrash ISN

In another Under-16 match, Indian School Muscat (ISM) handed Indian School Nizwa (ISN) a 10-wicket thrashing at Muscat Municipality Ground 1 on Saturday. Opting to bat first, ISN could score only 118 for eight in 30 overs with Hassan Gilani scoring a sedate 28.

Pariket Mistry took three wickets for 16.

ISM had no trouble chasing the small total, scoring 119 with openers Azam Ali (60) and Chahel Balasubramaniyan (50) completing the job in just 13.5 overs.
