13th ISC Dance Mania 2017 concludes
MUSCAT: The 13th edition of ISC-Minara Dance Mania 2017 organised by Indian Social Club Oman comes to a culmination with grand finale held at Al Falaj Hotel recently.
Scourging up a festive of dance, Oman’s biggest non-classical dance competition ended in style with the presence of renowned Indian film and reality show choreographer Mudassar Khan.
“The urge, the passion, the disappointments, the victories, and above all the spectacular flair witnessed by a full packed crowd of dance enthusiasts. The standard and quality of dance has reached a new altitude and the gifted dancers in Oman are definitely comparable with DID competitors,” said Mudassar.
Students who groomed impeccably under brilliant choreographers set the stage ablaze with their mind-blowing performances and perfect timings impressed Mudassar who was hooked on to the show from 5.30pm to 11pm without a break. He regaled the viewers with his interaction and applauded all the dance teachers not only for their incredible style of dances but also in the selection of songs, composition, chemistry and the formation.
The programme started with a welcome speech by Saji Abraham, cultural secretary of ISC. Dr Sathish Nambiar, chairman of ISC thanked the efforts put in by the parents and the children to make this event a real success. Babu Rajendran, the general secretary gave the vote of thanks. He acknowledged the efforts and support of Areej Vegetable Oil & Derivatives and Prem Maker in particular over the years towards this competition. Shakeel K. M., the joint cultural secretary, thanked all the judges, staff and volunteers for sparing their valuable time and conducting the show seamlessly and smoothly.
The absolute desire and dedication of students and teachers made Dance Mania the biggest ever competition held by ISC in Oman. It is the ultimate platform to showcase the talent and charisma of most gifted dancers of Indian Diaspora in Oman.
“We got a large number of entries this year especially in the group category, did our best to get the finest result in the performance and are very glad that the crowd left the venue with cherishing memories,” said Abraham.
Mudassar and Prem gave away the trophies and certificates to the winners.
