Indian Embassy to organise business meet
MUSCAT: Indian embassy said that a large business delegation from Gujarat and Maharashtra states of India, comprising promoters of about 45 reputed Indian companies, representing various sectors, will be visiting Oman between January 16 and 19, 2018 to explore opportunities for partnerships with Omani companies for trade and investments in Oman and India.
The visit is being coordinated by, Muscat Gujarati Samaj, Vishwa Gujarati Samaj and Global Network, under the auspices of Indian Embassy in Muscat.
Further, to facilitate interaction and tie-ups of the delegation with representatives of Omani companies from corresponding sectors, the embassy is organizing an India-Oman Businessto-Business Meeting (B2B) on January 17, 2018, at 5 p.m. at the premises of Indian Embassy in Diplomatic Enclave, Al-Khuwair, Muscat.
The main sectors represented by the Indian delegates are oil and gas, chemicals and petrochemicals, renewable energy, electrical products, engineering products, engineering services, building materials, minerals and mining and Textiles.

Trade links and people-topeople contacts between India and Oman date back to several millennia.
Bilateral trade and investment between India and Oman has been a key pillar of the mutually beneficial strategic partnership between the two countries. Government of India, therefore, accords a high priority to promoting bilateral trade and mutual investments between India and Oman.
India and Oman enjoy a buoyant trade, with value of bilateral trade reaching $4 billion during March 2016-April 2017 period, according to Department of Commerce, Government of India. It has already crossed $3.67 billion during April-October 2017. There is immense scope for enhancing trade between the two countries based on the growing complementarities.
