MSM index ends lower

Constructi­on Materials, up by 4 per cent, was the top gainer while Gulf Investment Services, down by 2.50 per cent was the top loser.

MUSCAT: The MSM30 Index remained stable at 5,106.28 points, a marginal loss of 0.03 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 718.69 points, up 0.05 per cent. Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Constructi­on Materials, up by 4 per cent, was the top gainer while Gulf Investment Services, down 2.50 per cent was the top loser.

A total number of 632 trades were executed on Monday, generating a turnover of OMR1.50 million with 9.31 million shares changing hands. Out of 42 traded securities, 8 advanced, 11 declined, and 23 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani Investors were net buyers for OMR85,000 followed by GCC & Arab Investors for OMR1,000 while Foreign Investors were net sellers for OMR86,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index retreated 0.18 per cent to finish at 7,572.09 points. Al Anwar Holding, Bank Dhofar and NBO increased 2.00 per cent, 0.90 per cent and 0.50 per cent respective­ly. Gulf Investment Services, HSBC Bank, Al Izz Bank, Bank Muscat and Bank Nizwa declined 2.50 per cent, 2.34 per cent, 1.49 per cent, 1.47 per cent and 1.09 per cent respective­ly.

Industrial Index closed at 6,851.85 points, up 0.17 per cent. Constructi­on Materials, Raysut Cement and Oman Fisheries gained 4.00 per cent, 2.56 per cent and 0.66 per cent respective­ly. Voltamp Energy and Al Anwar Ceramics lost 1.10 per cent and 0.81 per cent respective­ly.

Services Index was stable at 2,646.54 points, up 0.03 per cent. Omantel and Al Jazeera Services increased 0.87 per cent and 0.66 per cent respective­ly. Oman National Engineerin­g, OIFC and National Gas declined 2.00 per cent, 0.71 per cent and 0.34 per cent respective­ly.
