7,580 Omanis given private sector jobs

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Manpower said that it has appointed 7,580 jobseekers in the private sector establishm­ents following the decision of the Council of Ministers for providing 25,000 jobs for Omanis.

The statistics of the Ministry of Manpower showed that 5,122 male citizens and 2,458 female citizens have been appointed between December 3 and January 22, of whom 50. 4 per cent were holders of below diploma qualificat­ions. They amounted to 3,825 jobseekers of both genders.

The number of diploma holders getting jobs amounted to 2,490, representi­ng 33 per cent of the total applicants besides appointing 1,265 university graduates holding university diploma and above.

The statistics showed that 1,357 from among the total jobseekers have been appointed within seven days (January 16 to 22 January).

The Ministry of Manpower said that as part of the continued efforts for accelerati­ng the process of employment at the private sector, the procedures for interviews and appointmen­ts would be for those to be called in accordance with the notices to be published in the papers and on Twitter account during the first stage in cooperatio­n with the Public Authority for Manpower Register.

Job opportunit­ies

The Ministry of Manpower reaffirmed that it would continue to give opportunit­ies to all capable jobseekers.

The Ministry has also urged all related parties to cooperate for the success of this national programme and all jobseekers to follow with the latest developmen­ts through the local media and the websites of the Ministry.
