Workshop on latest trends in audiology held
MUSCAT: Super Quality Hearing Aid and Speech Therapy Centre organised ‘Audiology Update 2018’ and updated about latest trends, technologies.
Over hundred ENT doctors and audiologists across Oman, India, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, etc. participated in the event. The guest speakers of the day were Dr Richard Edward Gans from The American Institute of Balance, Dr Mohammad Alfarghal, director of Audiology Vestibular Clinic, King Abdul Aziz Medical City, Jeddah, Dr Gyorgy Varallyay Audiology and Training Manager for Signia, Siemens Hearing Instruments, Germany, Martin Gropper, Signia, Siemens Hearing Instruments, Germany, Eng. Giulio Dehesh, Hedera Biomedical from Italy, Vikrant Malik, managing director, Super Quality Hearing Aid and Speech Therapy Centre.
The main aim of the event was to educate all the professionals regarding new tests and techniques to help people with hearing difficulties, dizziness, tin- nitus and speech disorders, and how rehabilitation can help patients with dizziness. Hands-on training on instruments and case discussions were done with experts. Vikrant Malik, Super Quality Hearing Aid and Speech Therapy Centre and Dr Richard Gans said that they wish to do more such training programmes in association with American Balance Institute, America, in future. Dr Richard Gans updated that quite a few dizziness problems can be sorted out by just therapeutic methods only.
At this event, Siemens Hearing Instruments, Signia launched new hearing aids with remote programming technologies, OVP for natural voice, Made for iPhone and Android Hearing Aid and Wireless connectivity with phone and all electronic devices. Signia said that Oman is the first country in the whole GCC where these products are launched and assured in future that in new technology launches Oman will be given preference.
