Sohar Steel Group gets coveted certification

Sohar Steel is the first steelmaker in the Sultanate to get Sustainable Construction Steel (SCS) scheme certification from the prestigious CAREs of UKCares certification agency, United Kingdom

MUSCAT: Sohar Steel has received Sustainable Construction Steel (SCS) scheme certification from the prestigious CAREs of UKCares certification United Kingdom.

Sohar Steel is the first steelmaker in the Sultanate to get this certi- agency, fication. The CARES SCS scheme aims, in particular, to establish a dynamic framework to improve the energy and environmental performance of products and provide a robust and transparent mechanism for communicating the environmental performance of steel products to designers and clients.

Having more than two decades of an excellent track record on quality and trust in Oman, Sohar Steel continues to be the most trusted steel brand (SSBS) in the country. Sohar Steel units were also the pioneers in getting CAREs and DCL certification for steel rebars in the Sultanate

The Sohar steel is the win- ner of Best Manufacturer (Steel) for three consecutive years until 2016 and in the year 2017, it was awarded Best Manufacturer in Construction material among the entire construction sector in the Sultanate by Dossier Magazine at the Dossier Construction & Infrastructure award summit.

The Sohar Steel group has three production units under its fold namely Sohartseel, Sharq Sohar Steel Rolling Mills and the Middle East Conversion Industries. The product range includes steel billets, rebars, epoxy coating, welded wire mesh and cut & bend. A new project for producing wire rod coil is also there on the anvil.
