MUSCAT: Haya Water celebrated the 15th anniversary of its establishment under the patronage of Mohammed bin Salem Al Toobi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Al-Irfan district.

The celebration was also attended by Mohsin bin Mohammed Al Sheikh, chairman of Haya Board of Directors, members of the board and executive management and a group of Haya employees. The ceremony included the honouring of a number of employees who have completed 10 years of service in Haya Water and the launching of the company’s new website.

Eng. Hussain bin Hassan AbdulHussain, CEO of Haya Water, commented on this occasion and said that since the Company was established in 2002 and the practical commencement of its projects in 2005, Haya has encountered many obstacles and challenges. However, the company has thankfully managed, with the determination of everyone in Haya, to overcome these difficulties through steady hard work and racing against time. It is worth mentioning that Haya Water is executing one of the most complicated wastewater projects in the Middle East due to the geographical nature of the Sultanate. In addition, this project is implemented in fully serviced cities.

He added, “We are proud today of the achievements that have been made, which would not have been possible without the collective efforts of our competent employees whom we are very proud of and their significant role, as well. The company pays great attention to developing their capabilities and competencies. In fact, the company has become one of the most attractive workplaces for many qualified employees because of its stimulating working environment and its adherence to the latest international human resources practices. It should be also noted that the Omanisation rate of the company has exceeded 83% to this day.

The CEO emphasised that this celebration is a reflection of the importance of solidarity and coop- eration to achieve the company’s objectives and vision. Haya has also been holding an annual ceremony to honour its employees who have completed 10 years of service in the company and what we saw today is a continuation of this approach that we have adopted.

Eng. Hussain added, “Despite the success that was achieved in the provision of wastewater service to the residents in various governorates of the Sultanate and the provision of treated wastewater to its customers, there are still many challenges that we are working to find appropriate solutions to encounter them, to eventually be able to connect the largest number of houses and establishments in the earliest time possible and increase the use of treated wastewater until we reach the desired results. All this will be achieved by uniting all our efforts.”

One of Haya Water employees, Maqbool Al Balushi said that this honouring is just part of many offers granted by Haya and within the attention and development that we receive at both career and personal levels and at the same time constitutes a motivation to work hard and give more.”

Another employee, Qais Al-Farsi also emphasised that Haya Water has an attractive working environment for competencies and capabilities. He added, “Since I joined Haya family, I found that the working environment is very motivating to competencies and skilled people. The supervision of the executive management to this process is a catalyst for further self-development.”

About the inauguration of Haya website, the CEO added that the website has been developed according to the latest specifications in the field of electronic publishing, which reflects Haya Water strong belief of the importance of this interactive window between the company and the beneficiaries of its services. It is also considered a special platform to facilitate many of the daily transactions, which will contribute significantly to improve daily services provided by the company.
