MUSCAT: Rasasi Perfumes, one of the leading perfume houses in the Middle East, has recorded a 6 per cent overall increase in Oman for 2017.

Salim Kalsekar, managing director of Rasasi Perfumes, attributes the company’s strong performance to the continued diversification of the company’s range and growing demand for traditional fragrances, such as oudh, among a new generation of consumers who are keen to celebrate their heritage, with sales of incense up 10 per cent yearon-year, and oils increasing by 8 per cent.

“Our commitment to provide great value and the highest quality across a growing range of contemporary and traditional fragrances is at the heart of our continued success. This along with our strong brand equity in the region and our unique insight into customer needs has helped us to remain robust in a fiercely competitive regional industry that is facing a new set of challenges with the entry of global brands eyeing the Middle East markets,” Kalsekar said.

“In line with the rising trend of mixing traditional and modern scents, Rasasi works in partnership with some of the best fragrance houses in the world to continuously create fragrances to cater to the evolving, younger audience with modern packaging and contemporary notes, while retaining our heritage and tradition. We have several new exciting product launches in the pipeline and are confident that 2018 will be another good year for Rasasi,” he added.

Kalsekar also attributes Rasasi’s growth in 2017 to their continued investment in their retail footprint. The company opened 10 new outlets last year including stores in Rustaq and Suwaiq, while several existing outlets underwent a complete transformation with a new layout and look as part of the company’s strategy to provide a superior customer experience.

Ambitious expansion plans will see the esteemed perfume brand open 15-20 stores across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) by 2020 with scope to explore further pipeline opportunities. With four decades of mastery in blending scents that celebrate the rich tapestry of the Middle East and GCC, Rasasi prides itself on having an unrivalled knowledge of the finest traditions of perfumery. The Kalsekar family is closely involved in every aspect of operation to ensure highest standards across the supply chain right from sourcing of the raw ingredients, product development to the in-store experience.
