HBKU showcases PhD, Masters programmes

-

DOHA: The representatives from Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) are conducting a three-day graduate open house in Muscat, Oman, as part of its efforts to present its academic offerings and engage with prospective students.

The university is expected to be present from March 19 to 21 and is anticipated to visit two leading universities as well as set up in a leading hotel in the Omani capital.

All of HBKU’s world-class programmes were represented yesterday at the University of Nizwa, where university delegates discussed thoroughly HBKU’s admissions process, requirements, and answered questions from prospective students through an interactive information session.

Today, HBKU will demonstrate its wide array of masters and PhD programmes at the Grand Millennium Hotel. Faculty and staff will be available from 11am to 8pm to address visitors who want to learn more about what the university has to offer.

HBKU has been directly extending its outreach efforts beyond Education City (EC) for the first time this year.

Speaking about the visit to Muscat, Maryam Al Mannai, vice president of student affairs who is leading the initiative, said, “This visit is of special value to us at HBKU as we travel to a city that has welcomed us so warmly with utmost generosity and hospitality. Multiculturalism is a foundational value at HBKU as it continues to accept students from all around the world, including our neighbouring countries, which enriches the social and academic fabric within the university. Our students are our greatest assets and we are truly looking forward to meeting some of Muscat’s most capable and talented individuals, who will hopefully be able to benefit from the immense value within our programs and through our open house.”

To conclude the trip, the HBKU delegation, which includes staff, faculty, and deans from the university’s different colleges, will visit Sultan Qaboos University on March 21 for a final information session. In addition to having their inquiries answered, visitors, will be able to benefit from a meet-andgreet session with HBKU students, who will thoroughly describe their educational experience and the added value in the programmes they have chosen to pursue.

In February, HBKU travelled to Kuwait as part of the Education City Roadshow. Along with other university representatives from EC’s eight international campuses, HBKU’s delegation presented a one-of-a-kind opportunity to prospective students who wanted to learn about a multitude of programmes through a one-stop environment. HBKU’s admissions deadline is fast approaching with applications received until April 1.
