New cluster executive chef appointed

MUSCAT: Grand Millennium Hotel Muscat & Millennium Executive Apartments have appointed Chef Vito Fornelli as its new cluster executive chef.

Apart from overseeing and leading the culinary operations at Taybat, the all-day dining restaurant and Bahriyat, the hotel’s signature seafood restaurant, Chef Vito will also be managing the in-room dining and banqueting services of Grand Millennium Hotel Muscat & Millennium Executive Apartments.

Chef Vito was trained at the Italian Grand Hotel Costa Brada in Gallipoli. He spent the early years of his career in London, where he worked in establishm­ents such as the Metropolit­an hotel, followed by the Berkley Hotel and the Connaught Hotel.

Of the 18 years’ experience Chef Vito brings to Grand Millennium Hotel Muscat & Millennium Executive Apartments, he has spent more than eight years in the Middle East, having worked at a resort hotel and an internatio­nal chain in Bahrain.

On his joining, Chef Vito said, “It is an absolute honour for me to be the cluster executive chef in one of Oman’s leading hotels. I have been able to embrace the region and its cuisine, marrying my influences with local dishes and creating innovative interpreta­tions.”

Chef Vito uses the freshest and the most seasonal products sourced for their quality for his culinary creations, based on his good food, good life philosophy.
