MSM index ends higher

MUSCAT: The MSM30 Index had a stable session to close at, 4,802.56 points, up 0.03 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index gained 0.67 per cent to end at 681.56 points. Due to a special deal, Al Jazeera Steel was the most active in terms of both volume and turnover. The top gainer was also Al Batinah Developmen­t, up 4.65 per cent while the top loser was Omantel, down 5.26 per cent.

A total number of 834 trades were executed on Sunday, generating turnover of OMR19.15 million with 85.2 million shares changing hands. At the session close, Omani investors switched to net buyers for OMR16.1 million while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR16.0 million followed by Foreign investors for OMR121,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index closed at 7,230.66 points, up 0.43 per cent. AL Batinah Developmen­t, Gulf Investment Services, Al Izz Bank, Ominvest and Oman & Emirates Holding gained 4.65 per cent, 4.55 per cent, 3.95 per cent, 3.08 per cent and 2.94 per cent respective­ly. Muscat Finance, Al Sharqia Investment­s, Bank Nizwa, HSBC Bank and Taageer Finance declined 2.80 per cent, 2.73 per cent, 1.16 per cent, 0.94 per cent and 0.82 per cent respective­ly.

Industrial Index gained 0.18 per cent to finish at 6,695.24 points. Oman Fisheries and Al Anwar Ceramics gained 3.94 per cent and 1.74 per cent respective­ly. Al Maha Ceramics, National Aluminium and Galfar Engineerin­g declined 1.40 per cent, 1.36 per cent and 0.98 per cent respective­ly. Services Index ended at 2,558.76 points, up 0.13 per cent. Al Jazeera Services, Ooredoo, Oman National Engineerin­g, Renaissanc­e Services and Al Batinah Power increased 3.82 per cent, 3.48 per cent, 1.94 per cent, 1.82 per cent and 1.45 per cent respective­ly.
