New premises of Indian school opens with improved facilities

MUSCAT: The new school premises of Indian School Rustaq was inaugurate­d on March 28 by Wilson V. George, the outgoing chairman of the Board of Directors (BoD) of Indian Schools in Oman, in the presence of Khalid Al Shuhumi, Deputy Director of Private Schools Department, Al Rustaq.

Peri Jagannadha Mani, Director of Board of Indian Schools in Oman; Abdulla Paneguri, President of the School Management Committee; Alex C. Joseph, Head of Academics of BoD; Biju Varghese, Principal of Indian School Rustaq; SMC office bearers Dr. Ashok Manavazhi, Mohammed Riyaz Khan, Refeeq Rehman and others were also present on the occasion.

It was a joyous occasion, and a dream come true for the Indian community at Rustaq to see better infrastruc­ture for the school, following the efforts of the BoD and SMC for over a year.

George, chief guest of the function, said good quality of education helps in producing successful profession­als. He said students of Indian schools in the interiors of Oman deserve better infrastruc­ture facilities and the opening of the new premises was a milestone in this effort.

He mentioned the initiative­s being undertaken by the BoD of Indian schools in the Sultanate to bring about quality improvemen­t in infrastruc­ture and human resources in Indian schools.
