Three Omanis get passports
Talib Al Salhi, one of Omanis who is still detained in India, spoke exclusively to Times of Oman: “We were in court when the decision was released. Three Omanis who were detained in India received their passports today. With help from the embassy, they will complete the procedures, and within the next three days they will return to Oman,” he added.
Al Awadi, who received his passport, said: “I have been detained in Hyderabad for the past six months; we struggled a lot, but thanks to God Almighty, we have received our passports.
“I cannot describe my happiness, knowing that I am going back home. I would like to thank all the authorities and the Times of Oman for what they have done,” he added.
Al Shiyadi echoed his sentiment: “Thanks to God, today, the decision to release and receive our passports was issued. I thank all those who contributed to solving the issue and being our voice.”
Al Shiyadi added: “We were detained in Hyderabad since September, and today, we have been released and received our passports. Finally, I will return to Oman and see my people and children. Thank you to the Embassy, Two Omani nationals, Mohammed and Suleiman arrive in India on September 11, 2017

Five other Omanis are waiting for their trial on April 27, 2018 the Omani Ambassador in India, OHRC and all the media, which highlighted our issue.”
Earlier, Vice-Chairman of the Oman Human Rights Commission Yousuf Al Afifi said: “The Omani nationals detained in India were out on bail and living in a hotel. The Commission is still communicating with the authorities in India to finish their trial and resolve the case.”
Oman Human Rights Commission said in a recent report that it had done its best to help the Omani nationals facing trial in India.
