Kuwait Airways organises sports day for travel agents in Muscat
MUSCAT: Kuwait Airways organised a sports event that brought together major travel agents in Muscat in a large gathering of the travel and tourism sector in the Sultanate.
In an annual gesture, Kuwait Airways, through its office in Muscat, was keen to establish this gathering, during which the football tournament was held. The event brought together the 16 travel agents teams, which were distributed to four groups in a two days competition.
The closing ceremony was held under the patronage of Hamad Al Fahoud, the consular of the Kuwait embassy in the Sultanate, in the presence of Amin Al Haimi, Kuwait Airways, director - Sales and Marketing from Kuwait and Adel Al Zadjali, Secretary of the Muscat Club.
The event witnessed a good competition between the participating teams from the various travel agents in Muscat and they were keen this year to participate and make the event a success. The event included many activities and was attended by the families of the players and the employees of travel agents in the Sultanate at Muscat Club. The Muscat Club field witnessed music and dance performance and entertainment programmes along with football matches that made the participants enjoy thoroughly.
After an exciting final match, Fahd Express Travel & Tourism team won the tournament in the penalty shootout. The winners of the competition were crowned as KAC Football Champions 2018 as well as the best player award went to Khamis Al Sabhi, the Fahad Express employee. Khimji’s House of Travel team won the runner-up cup.
Amin Al Haimi, the director of Kuwait Airways said that he was pleased to witness the matches played by mostly Omani staff from travel agents and appreciated the participating teams for their enthusiasm in sports. “Kuwait Airways is keen to organise this annual gathering for the travel agents in Oman to create a family atmosphere that brings together the families of the employees of these offices in a gathering to practice sports activities in addition to getting out of the pressures of work, among staff in this sector. Further, the sports activity of this kind is the perfect event to bring both travel agents and Kuwait Airways together for team development and giving us a chance to build strong relationships with travel agents.”
He pointed out that the event of this year came out different, which was held in the presence of large numbers of families who enjoyed the amazing programmes that were placed on the final day as well as the presence of children of families who enjoyed the programme. They were happy to participate in the Kuwait Airways event and wished such gatherings to continue in the future.
“We take the opportunity to congratulate the Sultanate for the opening of the new Muscat airport which will serve the development of tourism in the Sultanate and the region,” concluded Haimy.
