MUSCAT: Art lovers and enthusiasts have something to look forward to, as an exhibition displaying the works of 17 contemporary Pakistani artists began yesterday at the Omani Society for Fine Arts (OSFA).

The exhibition titled “Spectrum” started at 7.30pm and is open until April 12 from 10am to 1pm and 5pm to 8pm at OSFA, Al Sarooj, behind Al Shatti Cinema.

Spectrum will feature a wide range of fine artworks, including genres of figurative, landscape, abstract, contemporary and Quranic calligraphy.

It is aimed at reinforcing ties between the two nations, as well as to showcasing incredible artwork from some of the finest artists in Pakistan and engage art enthusiasts in Muscat with the country’s cultural and artistic landscape.

“We have held five such art exhibitions in the past six years, in which some 52 artists from Pakistan have presented their artworks at OSFA and conducted workshops and lectures on art as well,” said one of the members of the organising committee.

“This exhibition provides a new platform for all the art lovers from both Oman and Pakistan to come together and celebrate the true colours of joy,” the member added.

Mariam Al Zadjali, OSFA Director, endorsed the event as an opportunity for artistic dialogue and interaction between art and society in Muscat, while hoping the 2018 edition of the event would be as successful as the last one.
