Exhibition on food safety

MUSCAT: The Food Safety and Municipal Work Conference 2018, organised by the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources in cooperation with Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) started yesterday.

The aim of the exhibition is to learn about the latest developments and the exchange of scientific and practical experiences in the field of food safety, in addition to displaying the GCC countries in the municipal area.

The opening of the conference was sponsored by His Highness Sayyid Taymour bin Asa’ad Al Said, in the presence of a number of ministers, members of the State Council, undersecretaries, and those concerned with the food and municipal affairs at the Sheraton Muscat Hotel.

The conference will discuss several topics, including food safety and quality in the GCC markets and their effects on public health, information and awareness, strategies, food security, food habits of the consumer and food safety, importance of food safety systems applications, in addition to discussing the risk of using modern technologies in the area of food safety.

It also discusses modern systems and technologies in the field of municipal services and partnership with the private sector in the development of municipal works and best practices in the field of sustainable urban planning and areas of voluntary work in the municipal sector.
