MUSCAT: Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) has selected several managers to undergo training for the Certified Manager’s Certificate, as part of the company’s efforts to develop the skills of Omani employees with appropriate qualifications through various training opportunities and job-related programmes.
To work efficiently with high quality, the programme is organised by the Institute of Professional Managers, a business centre at James Madison University in the United States.
The programme, being implemented for several batches of managers, consists of three modules: management, planning, and organisation and leadership. The last batch of four employees successfully completed this programme last September.
“We are committed to investing in the development of our employees, who are the most valuable assets for the company, to foster their performance and practical capabilities, which in turn ensures the company follows the best international practices,” Zuhair bin Issa Al Zadjali, Manager of the Human Resources Department, said.
“This programme is implemented by the company to enhance employees’ capabilities in the administrative aspect, and we will continue to develop their competencies according to the requirements of their jobs and the nature of work,” he added.
Enhancing efficiency
“Enhancing the efficiency of our employees and creating a suitable work environment is an objective that we strive to achieve, so as to provide a conducive environment for employees to work better and exert more efforts,” he further said.
Eng. Hisham bin Abdullah Al Riyami, Manager of Network Planning, one of the certified managers of this programme, pointed out the importance of the programme as it reflects the best practices in the management of resources, starting from planning and organisation to leadership and monitoring of results. He added that the programme relies on the transfer of many real examples of global practices that contribute to understanding the internal or global variables and challenges and their impact on work and productivity.
“The programme contributed to the development of our managerial and leadership capabilities, which reflected positively on the work environment within the company,” he said.
It is worth mentioning that OETC strives to improve its employees’ efficiency so they perform their professional duties and gain advanced scientific skills.
