Bank Sohar participates in Trainex
MUSCAT: Echoing its firm commitment towards supporting the national agenda on creating successful career opportunities for Omani youth, Bank Sohar took part in the Technology Education and Vocational Training Exhibition (Trainex), a co-located exhibition with the Global Higher Education Exhibition (Ghedex) that was launched recently at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
During the exhibition, Bank Sohar representatives welcomed visitors, students, public and private organisation representatives to the Bank Sohar stall and offered them information about the available training and employment opportunities in various roles across the bank, application and assessment processes as well as the various initiatives of the bank in recruiting Omani youth and developing the national workforce.
“This month, Bank Sohar’s has proudly completed 11 years of excellence in the local market, and the key pillar of our success remains to be our people,” said Sasi Kumar, Acting CEO of Bank Sohar. “We have achieved 92% Omanisation in the bank with many Omanis leading senior management positions. We continue to invest in providing rewarding career opportunities to Omani youth and prepare them for the next generation of industry leaders,” Sasi Kumar added.
Bank Sohar’s participation observed its third attendance at exhibitions like this one in recent weeks, including the College of Banking and Financial Studies’ Career and Training Opportunities Fair, and Middle East College’s Annual Career Fair.
At each, the bank drove agendas relating Omanisation, recruitment, human resource planning and training. The bank continues to invest as part of its social responsibility in this fields by connecting with job seekers, in addition to partaking in other private platforms designed to provide greater access to education and learning to boost the capacity of academic achievers.
The bank’s comprehensive focus on training to enhance the competence of employees remains an ongoing agenda, utilising specialised training programmes conducted by its inhouse Learning Centre, as well as external specialised training institutions to deliver, both locally and abroad.
