Having lived in UK and UAE and currently leading Starcare Hospitals in India and Oman, there are not many better professionals than him who can give the right perspective on medical tourism. His talk will elaborate the cause for international medical tourism/ health tourism or global healthcare, which is rapidly growing across international borders to seek healthcare services. It is a wider term for travel that focuses on medical treatments and the use of healthcare services. It covers a wide field of healthoriented, tourism ranging from preventive and health conducive treatment to rehabitational and curative forms of travel. Services typically sought by travellers include elective procedures as well as complex surgeries though people travel for dental tourism and fertility tourism.
Factors that have led to the increasing popularity of medical travel include the high cost of health care, long wait time’s procedures, the ease and affordability of international travel, and improvements in both technology and standards of care in many countries.
