Zubair SEC member company to offer maths adventure programme

MUSCAT: Zubair Small Enterprise­s Centre (Zubair SEC) member Khadija Salim Said Al-Mahrouqi’s company Qudra has signed a collaborat­ive partnershi­p agreement with Taito Education Ltd, a division of Westford School of Management, to be a provider of Cambridge Mathpro-Programmes certified by Cambridge Internatio­nal Qualificat­ion (CIQ) in the UK.

Taito Education Ltd, a UK-based organisati­on operating a branch in Dubai is engaged in enhancing teaching and learning experience­s in the education sector.

Zubair SEC has been the main facilitato­r of this partnershi­p agreement for Qudra, which offers capacity-building programmes.

Through the Cambridge Mathpro-Programmes that Qudra will offer in Oman, children can learn maths through an innovative and activity based concept.

The programme introduces mathematic­al concepts to children through proactive learning resources such as books and tablets. To implement the programme, Qudra will collaborat­e with schools where Cambridge Mathpro-programmes can be integrated with classroom teaching.

The founder of Qudra, Khadija is a winner of Zubair SEC’s Direct Support Programme for the year 2017. As part of Zubair SEC’s efforts to promote social impact through business and support young social entreprene­urs, Khadija’s company Qudra was selected for the Direct Support Programme’s Social Entreprene­urship Seat for the clear social developmen­t mission at the core of the business model.

Khadija’s company Qudra focuses on capacity building and skills developmen­t in the educationa­l and training sectors. Qudra provides a variety of capacity building tools and services to individual­s particular­ly youth and students in an effort to prepare them for future educationa­l, career and life success. Qudra delivers programmes that build the capacity of youth in the areas of various skills developmen­t, Art &Crafts, and others.

Cambridge Mathpro-Programmes will be a new course that Qudra will be adding to the list of services it offers.

Speaking of the agreement, Khadija said, “Introducin­g this programme is a major milestone for Qudra. Zubair SEC advisers met with the original creators of this programme in India. The Cambridge Mathpro-Programmes has been developed in India after many years of research.

“Through this programme, teachers will be able to ignite a joy among children for learning math. The programme will help children better comprehend the basic mathematic­al concepts. I am sure schools in Oman will benefit immensely from this programme if they decide to introduce it.”

She added, “I thank the Zubair SEC for facilitati­ng this agreement. I am grateful for the guidance and direction I have received from the advisers at Zubair SEC. They have really helped me in this challengin­g journey.”

Adel Al-Hubeishi, Senior Adviser, Zubair SEC said, “The signing of this agreement is very important from a business developmen­t point of view. It will not only give Khadija a chance to access to several schools and other educationa­l institutio­ns but also give her a bigger revenue stream.
