Bahwan Travels rewards OTC competition winners

MUSCAT: Skysouq.com, Oman’s first online travel portal, under the umbrella of Suhail Bahwan Group’s Bahwan Travels, recently presented certificates of merit and a cash reward to three students from Oman Tourism College, who won an innovative competition organised by Skysouq.com.

Sheikha Amal Suhail Bahwan, vice chairperson of Suhail Bahwan Group presented the certificates of merit and the reward to the first prize winner Mariya Madid Nasser Madid Al Dhuhli, Nabila Rasool Bakhsh Mahmood Al Balushi, who won the second prize and Salma Al Ramadhani, who won the third prize.

Congratulating the winners, Sheikha Amal Bahwan said, “It’s good to see more and more Omani women are choosing tourism and hospitality as their career choice. As a pioneering travel agency in Oman with over 40 years of experience, Bahwan Travels is happy to associate with Oman Tourism College and share our knowledge and expertise and encourage students to pursue the profession with greater passion.” She also encouraged them to learn foreign languages and gain international practical experience to promote Oman abroad.

skysouq.com, the online venture of Bahwan Travels in association with Oman Tourism College launched a competition for students titled ‘Oman Innovative Tourism Package 2017’ asking students to create tour packages promoting Oman as a destination. A panel of judges selected three students who presented the best tour packages.

The initiative was organised as part of corporate social responsibilities of group by adopting programmes and providing opportunities that help young Omanis to develop their skills and thus supply qualified Omanis to the employment market.
