Eshraqa delivers 8,000 Ramadan boxes to families
The team visited 18 charities and social aid associations across Oman to hand over boxes containing essential items reaching beneficiaries across the nation
MUSCAT: Khimji Ramdas’ social development arm Eshraqa recently distributed 8,000 Ramadan boxes to families in need during the build-up to the holy month of Ramadan. The team visited 18 charities and social aid associations across Oman to hand over boxes containing essential items reaching beneficiaries across the nation. The team partnered up with social aid teams to distribute Ramadan boxes to villages of Hanshift, Al Laho, and Yitito supporting in the need of local communities. Popular Social media influencers such as Maha Al Bulushi, Madiha Al Sulimany and Issam Al Zadjali were appointed as ‘Eshraqa’s Ambassadors’ to help promote the mission raising awareness and supporting the needs of local people
Nailesh Khimji, director of Khimji Ramdas, said, “The classical values of Ramadan make it a period of caring and sharing, with those who need it most need it.Khimji Ramdas has always endeavoured to spread the message of sharing and caring through a variety initiatives and projects under Eshraqa, which aims to support families across Oman and ensure that they too enjoy the social festivities and come together in the spirit of Ramadan”.
He added, “Every year we conduct aid campaigns in the form of food drives, donations, and goodwill contributions in collaboration with a number of philanthropic organisations to ensure that we tend to the needs of local people and contribute to community wellbeing, as one of our key areas of focus. Eshraqa is about helping others in tandem with the core values of Omani society and Ramadan is an important time of year where we can make a humble contribution to those less fortunate than ourselves.”
Reflecting the organisation’s family values, KR will host an Iftar for over 1,000 of its employees and their families on May 31. Other recent community centred activities will see the team’s celebrate Qaranqasho with children admitted to the Cancer ward at the Royal Hospital.
