MUSCAT: ahlibank continues its Corporate Social Responsibility #Ahli_Cares initiative by supporting the Oman Lawyers Association (OLA) Campaign - the ‘Faku Kurba’ or redeeming of anguish.

Founded in 2012 by the Omani Lawyers Association, the hearty initiative helps to clear financial debts of those serving sentences in prisons with the hopes of seeing the light of freedom. Famously titled as ‘Faku Kurba’, which simply means the redeeming (of ) anguish, it is an appreciated initiative supported by several individuals and companies over the previous years, winning many donations helping further the cause.

As one of the region’s respectable and responsible financial institutions, ahlibank finds this as an opportunity to deliver on its commitment to the Omani people by extending its support to the campaign this year.

“This initiative, as a gesture during the last week of Ramadan, will be a source of relief to the troubled individuals who are held in prison enabling them to spend the joyous occasion of Eid Al Fitr with their families. I would like to thank the Oman Lawyers Association for this initiative which touches the lives of individuals and entire families,” commented Abdullah Al Jabri, senior general manager of ahlibank.

“I would like to thank ahlibank for its support and contribution for Faku Kurba initiative, which will help release prisoners with financial debts or help those who are sentenced for their financial defaults. ahlibank was the official sponsor of the first edition of this initiative in 2012. As the number of cases rises from 44 cases in the first edition to more than 500 cases in the fifth edition of the Faku Kurba initiative, we seek to expand the base of cases released every year,” commented Dr Mohammed Al Zadjali, chairman, Oman Lawyers Association.
