MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman is home to around 685,000 Indian expat workers. Many of them are blue collared workers and are in need of proper Life & health insurance cover, else could have a major financial impact for the worker and the sponsor, especially in case of an unfortunate accident, hospitalisation or death.

Looking at this, National Life & General Insurance Co (NLGIC) has customised it’s Voluntary Group Accident & Life Insurance for expat Indian workers in Oman at a cost as low as OMR15 for a policy term of 2 years. This covers medical expenses due to accident, disability due to accident and death due to an accident or any other cause including repatriation and air ticket cash grant. An amount of OMR5,000 is the insurance cover in case of accidental death under this plan.

Health insurance is also the need of the hour and especially hospitalisation expenses which often makes a big dent in the pocket and drains useful monetary resources. This could be especially devastating for the blue collared workers, where such unforeseen medical emergencies can become a big burden and put entire life and family out of balance and difficult to recover.
