20 OTC staff complete TAMK’s Online Course
MUSCAT: Twenty staff members of the Oman Tourism College (OTC) were awarded proficiency certificates for successful completion of an online course held in collaboration with the Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK), Finland, in Muscat.
The five-month course that took place from November to March, titled ‘21st Century Educators from Finland: Emerging Trends in Education’, gave course participants the opportunity to avail professional knowledge, backed by 20 years of experience provided by TAMK through the process of working online.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Abdulkarim Al Mughairi, the dean of the OTC said, “The college has always been at the forefront of initiatives that contribute to the development of students or staff, adding long-term value to their overall professional skills. This awards ceremony is a testimony of the importance we lay on human capital and the prospects that await motivated learners and aspiring industry professionals.”
He added, “We offer our sincere congratulations to all each one of the course participants for their hard work and dedication and wish them the very best for the future.”
The TAMK online study programme is a collaborative learning experience that will motivate participants to be active learners, sharing ideas and contributing to discussions that would help them to reflect their learning and enhances the quality of their knowledge and skills.

Other critical resources and experiences are supplied through OTC’s partnership with Dublin Institute of Technology in the Republic of Ireland, as well as awarding bodies such as Highfield and the REDglobal Foundation.
