MUSCAT: Aimed at the heart of the midsize SUV segment, the GMC 2018 Acadia offers versatility, refinement and advanced safety technologies. Starting from OMR12,995, the Acadia is the perfect mid-size SUV for individuals and families.
Available in seven-passenger configuration, Acadia’s line-up includes the SLE and SLT that comes with a 281hp and the Denali with a 310hp. All models come with a 3.6L V-6 engine and a six-speed transmission powertrain that includes performance and fuel economy optimising technology. A complimentary 60,000 km service is offered on SLE and SLT from the manufacturer, General Motors that is upped to 100,000km for the Denali. The 2018 GMC Acadia is spacious, easy to manoeuvre and offers premium features.
It is related to comfort, convenience and performance. The Smart Slide seating system allows easy access to the third row. Additionally, the second and third row still fold flat for class-leading maximum cargo space.
The spacious interior of the GMC Acadia is complemented with the user-friendly IntelliLink infotainment system. IntelliLink uses Bluetooth or USB to connect the driver smartphone to Acadia’s high-resolution, full-colour touch screen display. IntelliLink allows smartphone control via voice activation and steering wheel-mounted controls and streaming stereo audio from the phone.
Most importantly, it enables seamless integration of stowed portable devices with Acadia’s infotainment system, allowing minimum driver distractions.
As the driver and passenger protection has always been a priority with GMC, Acadia offers drivercentric alerts. Lane change alert with side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert, rear park assist and rear vision camera are some of the features that GMC customers have come to expect and value across the line-up.
However, one feature that has been a talking point is the industryfirst rear-seat detection, which is now standard across the line-up. The Rear Seat Reminder works by monitoring the Acadia’s rear doors. It is activated when either rear door is opened and closed within ten minutes before the vehicle is started, or if they are opened and closed while the vehicle is running.
Once the vehicle is switched off, there will be an audible chime and a visual message will be displayed in the centre of the Acadia’s speedometer to check the rear seat before departing, preventing the driver from inadvertently leaving anything behind in the rear seats.
