Kims Oman Hospital offers paediatric cardiology services
MUSCAT: The Kims Oman Hospital hosts Dr Abdullah Al Balushi, the paediatric cardiology consultant, who will be available on Mondays and Wednesdays every week from 5pm to 9pm each week.
Dr Abdulla Al Baloushi works at the National Heart Centre at the Royal Hospital in diagnosis and treatment of paediatric heart diseases in addition to his specialisation in cardiovascular MRI and CT.
Dr Abdullah received his doctorate in general medicine in 2004 and the degree of specialised diploma in the field of child health in 2007 from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Subsequently, he completed his training as a paediatric health practitioner from the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) in 2011. Dr Abdullah Al-Balushi was also awarded the paediatric cardiology fellowship of the year 2015 after passing all the requirements of training in paediatric heart disease for the period of 3 years.
In the year 2016, Dr Abdullah completed the advanced training in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance(MRI) & Computed Tomography (CT) from Germany and received Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Level 3 from the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging and also received the title of a Fellow of Society Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (FSCMR) in 2017. In addition, Dr Abdullah obtained the specialized board of Cardiovascular CT in 2016.
Dr Abdullah Al Balushi participated in international conferences and presented many papers in the field of paediatric heart diseases. In the year2016, Dr Abdullah presented a research paper in the field of Cardiovascular MRI in Leipzig, Germany. The paper was then selected from the best 5 papers at the conference. In the year 2017, Dr Abdullah Al Baloushi presented a research paper on heart disease in Washington, DC, and where Dr Abdullah was chosen as a keynote speaker at the International Cardiovascular MRI Conference among 700 presenters around the world and was admired by the audience.
Dr Abdullah also has numerous research publications published in world-class health journals. Among these researches, one is entitled: “Strengthening lung function after expansion of the left pulmonary artery during the Norwood procedure” and other is a research entitled: “Expanding the restrictive pulmonary artery when repairing the Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) (comparative study and follow - up of 10 years).
