SALE International sponsors seminar on provisions of labour law for HR managers
MUSCAT: Under the patronage of Hamad bin Khamis Al Amri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Manpower for Labour Affairs, an introductory seminar was conducted at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Muscat recently. Sponsored by SALE International, the seminar focused on the provisions of labour law for human resources managers working in the public and private sectors.
The seminar’s workshops were opened by Abdullah bin Ambar Al-Saadi, Head of the Labour Awareness Department at the Ministry of Manpower, and the opening speech was given by Salem bin Saeed Al-Badi, Director General of the Ministry’s Labour Awareness Department. On the first day, the seminar highlighted the experiences of private sector employees; through a presentation that was made by Mimouna Al-Mamari, Human Resources Manager at a private sector company.
A paper was also presented by Khalid Al-Khanbashi, a Medical Simulation Specialist at the Omani Council of Medical Specialties that focused on the basics of first-aid. Younis Al-Zadjali, Director of the Department of Insurance Benefits at the Public Authority for Social Insurance presented a paper on insurance benefits, and Ahmed Al-Musafer, Assistant Director of Labour Dispute Settlement Department at Ministry of Manpower presented a paper on the Labour Law and Collective Labour Disputes.

On the second day, the seminar presented a number of topics, including “An Introduction to the Omani Labour Law”, which was presented by Nasr Al-Siyabi, Labor Inspector in the Labor Services Department. In addition to this, case studies on “Labor Issues” and “how to establish productive human relations in the work environment” were presented by Mohammed Saddam, a Training Expert.
