MUSCAT: Following a two-week exciting #footballmania engagement with followers in the bank’s official social media pages, Bank Sohar awarded the winners of the football social media competition launched last month to share the excitement of the championship of the world’s most popular sport.

The competition with the hashtag #footballmania ran on Bank Sohar official Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages and attracted over 40,000 participations. The competition witnessed thousands of followers competing to win valuable gadgets including GoPros, Garmin Smartwatches, and iPads.

The eligible participants were put through a computerized draw to select 10 lucky winners who were then invited to the bank for an award handover. Mazin Al Raisi, Senior AGM and Head of Marketing & Customer Experience expressed Bank Sohar’s excitement to join its followers showing off their general knowledge for this global sport while giving them the opportunity to win valuable prizes. He said, “Sharing special moments and occasions with our customers and followers are at the core of our community-oriented strategy. Our social media is a direct and open channel of communication that is of increasing importance to us as it allows us to understand requirements of our followers and obtain feedback enabling us to add more value to our offerings and activities.”

It is worth noting that over the last few months, Bank Sohar has organised three different social media competitions with the aim to engage and reward its followers, starting with the 11th Anniversary competition focusing on the journey of Bank Sohar and its achievements since the launch of its operation in 2007; followed by the Ramadan competition highlighting Omani figures who played significant roles in the history of the Sultanate; and last but not least the aforementioned #FootballMania competition.

The three competitions witnessed the engagement of over 70,000 participations collectively.
