OSHRM HR 4th annual conference from October 9
MUSCAT: With a great success of previous conferences, OSHRM was able to engage and inspire the HR community in Oman and in the region. Last year, for instance, the conference and the workshops were attended by more than 450 of which 100 were regional and international participation.
This year it is facilitating and organising discussion and deliberation on the ever-evolving, challenging and contemporary human resource landscape, the fourth annual conference on the theme ‘Tomorrow is Now. Are We There Yet?’ from October 9 to 11 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
It will address the challenges organisations and individuals are facing, the transformation required and impact on the overall ecosystem. Speakers will tackle the topic from different angles and explore new ideas and solutions. Technology’s opportunities and threats, human capital and change management, capacity development, academic role, public policies and regulations role, are among the agenda’s key pillars.
Announcing details of the annual conference, organisers said that the conference would bring together human resource experts from across the world to provide various insights into the ever-changing human resources management sector. The website (www.oshrmconference.com) detailing the agenda of the 2018 edition of the conference was launched at the same event. Users of the website will now be allowed to register, select their preferred workshops and connect with peer HR professionals.
In view of the significant importance of OSHRM annual conference, the conference has received special attention from the Board of Directors who formed an executive board headed by Dr Ghalib Saif Al Hosni, chairman of the Board. The conference committee headed by Ali bin Musa Al-Abri, board member and honouree treasurer will follow up the process of the intensive preparation with the support of all the board members, along with dedicated committees’ volunteers’ members’. To help organisations in Oman navigate a new world of the workplace that requires a dramatic change in human resources management strategies, the fourth edition of OSHRM annual conference will provide participants with practical tools to adopt good human resources management practices. The conference will cover a range of issues and will review the current state of human resource management. In tandem, the conference will focus on how Oman human capital challenges and how HR practices are incessantly evolving keeping in pace with technological changes and the world economy

OSHRM was formally established in 2014 through a Ministerial Decree as a forum for Human Resources professionals to share knowledge and to contribute to building Human Resources capability in Oman. OSHRM has been organising its annual conference with an aim to contribute to building Human Resource capabilities in the Sultanate by providing high standard tools and knowledge for human resources professionals to excel in their roles.
