MUSCAT: To create and grow young businesses and promote the growth of successful startups in the logistics sector, ‘Ibhar’, an incubator programme which will help aspiring startups to explore business opportunities in the logistics sector has been launched. The incubator which has been launched by Asyad, will provide the accepted start-ups and ideas with a comprehensive and integrated range of support.

Ibhar incubator will offer incubator space, business support services and clustering and networking opportunities for startups. The unit aims to counsel, guide and support startups by providing them with focused support needed to grow their business and sustain the jobs created. It proposes to develop a supportive environment with strong industry linkage and with possibility to capitalise on available business opportunities within Asyad group in particular and the logistics sector in general.

The incubator will offer a nurturing environment for the startups to flourish. It will accelerate the successful development of start-ups through an array of business support resources and services. The initiative aims to build a strong small and medium enterprise (SME) ecosystem to help accelerate the growth of the logistics sector in the country.

A significant aspect of longterm success of any start-up is the appropriate support and guidance they receive through the early stages of their development. To address this requirement, Asyad decided to launch this incubator programme. The programme will create a vibrant entrepreneurial scene across Oman and encourage more local start-ups to explore opportunities in the logistic sector and help them sail for their success.

The framework of Ibhar is structured around core components. It aims to utilise a combination of pre-incubation services to create awareness and better business propositions for incubation.
