GCC team learns about Oman experience in previous expos
MUSCAT: A delegation from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretariat General chaired by Khalid Al Sheikh Commissioner General of the Secretariat pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020 met on Monday at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre with Mohsen bin Khamis Al Balushi, Advisor at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Commissioner General of the Sultanate’s Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020.
The meeting came after taking advantage of previous experiences of the Sultanate’s participation in the Expos and preliminary preparations for the forthcoming participation in Expo Dubai 2020 in terms of administrative, financial, logistics, media, marketing and technical.
“This is the first coordination meeting to be held in preparation for the participation of the GCC General Secretariat in a pavilion at the Expo Dubai 2020,” Khalid Al Sheikh said.
He said in a statement that the participation of the GCC General Secretariat comes at the invitation received from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the participation of the GCC in the Expo and based on this invitation a decision was made by the ministerial council that the Secretariat should have an active participation to review the achievements and legacy of the Cooperation Council.
Al Sheikh pointed out that the meetings will continue in the coming period and there is an action plan through the preparation of a joint committee at the level of the national pavilions of the GCC countries, which will be attended by all the GCC commissioners in order to implement the quality of the content presented by the GCC pavilion.
The meeting was attended by Hassan bin Mohammed Al Lawati, Advisor to the Minister of Heritage and Culture for Heritage Affairs, Deputy CommissionerGeneral and members of the team at the pavilion of the Sultanate at Expo Dubai 2020.
