MUSCAT: Al Ahlia Insurance Company SAOG, Oman’s most progressive insurance company, has won the AIWA (Alam AlIktisaad Wal-A’mal) Award for Best Performing Companies on MSM (in the mid-cap category). The award was received by Lloyd East, Regional CEO, RSA (Middle East), and Managing Director, Al Ahlia Insurance Co. Oman, at a gala ceremony held on September 10, 2018.

Awarded by the leading Arabic business magazine, AIWA, this is the 10th edition of the annual survey of best performing listed companies. The evaluation for the mid-cap category award was based on a listed company’s market capitalisation at the end of 2017 and considered key financial performance parametres.

The evaluation and validation of results were done independently by reputed organisations.

This award reflects Al Ahlia’s commitment to its core philosophy, “One Step Ahead” and a year of momentous achievements. Commenting on the achievement, East said, “It is truly gratifying that Al Ahlia has won this recognition in the first year of its listing on the Muscat Securities Market (MSM), following our successful maiden IPO last year. This is a commendable achievement that has made the staff, management and Board of Directors of Al Ahlia proud.”

“We are delighted with the efforts of our staff across the organisation and their dedication towards building rewarding relationships. Al Ahlia truly benefits from their experience, expertise and spirit of continuous improvement in customer orientation. The performance underlines our commitment to all stakeholders, especially the wider shareholder group from the public,” he added.

This win is yet another milestone along Al Ahlia’s journey, which saw the company complete its maiden IPO with great success, rebrand itself with its reenergised mission and offer an enhanced new approach to customer experience and deliver enriched product offerings.

Expanding further on this, East said, “The Award underlines our robust business strategy and operational excellence. As a progressive insurer, Al Ahlia has taken the lead in delivering innovative solutions to a discerning and dynamic customer base.”

“We have introduced breakthrough propositions such as guaranteed garage repair times, easy online purchase and claims registration and a bilingual call centre. We are confident that these will translate into further improving our performance to sustain our leadership position.” he said

“None of it would be possible without partnerships. I would like to extend our thanks to the Capital Market Authority and the MSM for their continued support and guidance, and the Al Ahila team for keeping us always One Step Ahead,” East added.
