Kaleemulla­h bowls Assarain to victory

Facing a small target, Al Turki could not capitalize on the golden opportunit­y to upset Assarain, losing half the side for only 56 runs. Kaleemulla­h and Sanuth Ebrahim made sure there was no recovery as Al Turki was bundled out for a dismal 89 in the 42nd over. Yogesh Patel and Jay Odedara topscored with 22 each. Kaleem and Sanuth claimed 4 and 3 wickets respective­ly.

Brief scores: Assarain 122 all out in 36 overs (Zeeshan Maqsood 36 – 2x4, 3x6, Gastav Burger 29 – 1x4, 1x6. Jay Odedara 5-12) beat Al Turki NMC 89 all out in 41.2 overs (Yogesh Patel 22 – 2x4, Jay Odedara 22 not out – 1x4. Kaleemulla­h 4-17, Sanuth Ebrahim 3-14) by 33 runs.

Sinha routs OCT Muscat

Dhamika Premadasa (54) and Ishara Fernando (3 for 20) were the stars of Sinha CT’s 31-run victory against OCT Muscat in an A Division match at Ministry of Sports ground 2 in Al Amerat on Friday.

Invited to bat first, Sinha could manage only 190 before being all out in 49 overs. Apart from Dhamika, Munusingha Senevirtne was the other main scorer with 40 off 53. Nawed Al balushi picked 3 for 23.

OCT Muscat failed to get going and was skittled out for 159 in 33.2 overs despite opener Ali Akbar Al Balushi’s fluent 52 of 64 balls. Faraz Ismail contribute­d 37 off 26. Ishara Fernando and Ravindu Weeramuni took three wickets each.

Brief scores: Sinha CT 190 all out in 49 overs (Dhamika Premadasa 54 – 9x4, Manusingha Senevirtne 40 – 5x4, 1x6. Nawed Al Balushi 3-23, Zubair Akbar 2-43) defeated OCT Muscat 159 all out in 33.2 overs (Ali Akbar Al Balushi 52 – 5x4, 2x6, Faraz Ismail Al Balushi 37 – 5x4, 1x6. Ishara Fernando 3-20, Ravindu Weeramuni 3-42) by 31 runs.

Abbas shines for OCT Seeb

In a B Division match, Abbas Al Balushi claimed 4 wickets for 17 runs to guide OCT Al Seeb to a huge 104-run win over OCT Amerat at Muscat Municipali­ty ground 2 on Friday.

Finding runs hard to come by, OCT Seeb was dismissed for 182 in the 28th over with Samir Othman (31) and Issa Al Balushi (30) being the main scorers. Ashar Mohammed and Najeeb Al Balushi bagged three wickets each.

Chasing a target was even more difficult and OCT Amerat was quickly bowled out for a meagre 78 in the 18th over. Abbas and Issam were the most successful bowlers with 4 and 3 wickets respective­ly.

Brief scores: OCT Al Seeb 182 all out in 27.6 overs (Samir Othman 31 – 5x4, Issa Al Balushi 30 – 3x4, 2x6, Younis Murad 28 – 3x4. Ashar Mohammed 3-26, Najeeb Al Balushi 3-29, Karim Qadir Al Balushi 2-20) trounced OCT Amerat 78 all out in 17.5 overs (Said Haider Al Balushi 15 – 2x4. Abbas Al Balushi 4-17, Issam Othman 3-08) by 104 runs.

Al Mardhuf win

Nadeem’s all-round prowess saw Al Mardhuf CT to a big 83-run victory against Basta CT in another B Division game at Muscat Municipali­ty ground 1.

Alo Mardhuf amassed 234 for 9 in 30 overs thanks to Nadeem’s strokeful 77 off 58 balls. Ishtiaq Muhammed batted well too for his 28-ball 42. Prasad Peruli captured 4 wickets for 43 runs while Murad Khan picked 2 for 37.

Having to chase a huge total, Basta CT crumbled under pressure to be dismissed for 151 in the 24th over. Reyaz Zaidi contribute­d 30 off 40. Nadeem excelled with the ball too, taking 3 for 30.

Brief scores: Al Mardhuf CT 234 for 9 in 30 overs (Nadeem 77 – 11x4, 1x6, Ishtiaq Muhammed 42 – 5x4, 1x6. Prasad Peruli 4-43, Murad Khan 2-37) thrashed Basta CT 151 all out in 23.5 overs (Reyaz Zaidi 30 – 4x4, Deepak Gakhar 27 – 6x4. Nadeem 3-30, Abdul Rauf 2-22, Hushen 2-28) by 83 runs.
