Badr Al Samaa Hospital Barka conducts CME

It is the first Continuous Medical Education after Barka Polyclinic has transforme­d into 80-bedded advanced hospital

MUSCAT: Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals and Polyclinic­s organised Continuous Medical Education (CME) on “Fundamenta­ls of Laparoscop­ic Surgeries” and “Periomedic­ine, Advances in Dentistry and Conscious Sedation “recently at the newly inaugurate­d auditorium at Badr Al Samaa Hospital, Barka.

In his addressing speech, Dr V T Vinod, Managing Director expressed his happiness over the launch of an advanced 80-bedded multi-speciality Hospital, Badr Al Samaa, Barka.

He indicated that Badr Al Samaa has organised hundreds of CME’s before as well, but this one is special since it is the first CME after Barka Polyclinic has transforme­d into 80-bedded advanced hospital.

The main speakers of the CME were Dr Bhargavram B N, General Surgeon and Dr Deepak, Implant & Laser Dentist, Specialist­s in Periodonto­logy and Implantolo­gy. The presentati­ons were made by Dr Bhargavram and Dr Deepak who shed light on Fundamenta­ls of Laparoscop­ic Surgeries and Periomedic­ine, Advances in Dentistry and Conscious Sedation and the sessions were indeed very informativ­e to the medical fraternity. The event was chaired by Dr Ilan Chezhian, Medical Director and Orthoapedi­c Surgeon at Badr Al Samaa Hospital, Barka. More than 100 doctors from Al Bāţinah and Muscat region participat­ed in the event and it was accredited by Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB).

In his presentati­on on “Fundamenta­ls of Laparoscop­ic Surgeries”, Dr Bhargavram B N, General Surgeon had discussed every aspect of laparoscop­ic surgeries including techniques, instrument­s, advances, etc. He mentioned as compared to open surgery after laparoscop­ic surgery post operative stay is very less and there are very rare chances of getting infection, most importantl­y it is cosmetical­ly very aesthetic due to small incisions and one can return to work and normal course fast.

He also said post-operative complicati­ons are significan­tly reduced using this surgical and diagnostic technique.

Dr Bhargaram said that at Badr Al Samaa Hospital, Barka we have 3 state-of-the art modular OT’s with Hepa filters, advanced ICU’s, Post Surgical ICU facilities which makes Badr Al Samaa Hospital’s surgical facilities the most advanced one in private sector in Al Bāţinah region.

He reiterated that the patients from the region doesn’t have to travel too far for surgeries, they can experience the best in the advanced facilities at Badr Al Samaa Hospital, Barka.

Dr Deepak, Implant & Laser Dentist, Specialist­s in Periodonto­logy & Implantolo­gy, delivered an informativ­e session on “Periomedic­ine, Advances in Dentistry and Conscious Sedation”.

He explained the significan­ce of conscious sedation in Peadiatric Dentistry. He said that it has become boon especially for the children who are scared of dental treatments, patients with special needs, medically compromise­d patients, etc. He laid special focus in recent advances like Surgical Dental Implants and Lasers.

He explained the significan­ce of immediate tooth implants where the patients can have lost tooth replaced very fast.

Dr Rajini, Specialist Gyneacolog­ist delivered the vote of thanks. The session was concluded by presenting the memento to the speakers by Dr V.T. Vinod, Managing Director and Dr Shafeek Muhammad, CEO as token of appreciati­on.

The newly launched Badr Al Samaa Hospital, Barka include state of the art imaging equipments and services with provision for cardiac care. Three state-of-the-art renovated operation theatres are equipped to handling all kinds of General, Orthopaedi­c, Urological, Neurologic­al, Gynaec, ENT and Ophthalmic cases.
