MUSCAT: Oman Qatar Insurance Company SAOG – (OQIC), a leading insurance company in Oman, recently held a grand opening ceremony for its corporate and retail branches where it introduced its revolutionary ‘Insurance-on-Call’ service.

Held at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Muscat, the opening ceremony included many dignitaries and government officials, along with directors, industry experts, prominent business leaders, associates and partners, and OQIC employees.

Sheikh Khalid bin Omar Al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service, unveiled a commemorative plaque during the opening of the new corporate office and retail branch at Al Khuwair, in the presence of Ahmed Ali Al Maamari, Vice President, Insurance Sector of the Capital Market Authority (CMA), Ali bin Fahad Al Hajir, Ambassador of Qatar to Oman, and Khalaf Ahmed Al Mannai, Chairman of OQIC.

During his address, Khalaf Ahmed Al Mannai, Chairman of OQIC, said, “The bilateral relations between Oman & Qatar have grown in leaps and bounds thanks to the shared vision of the His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. This successful relation has manifested in forming new synergies, new agreements and cooperation projects.

“OQIC’s vision aligns with its parent Qatar Insurance Group, which is to continue its drive for achieving further growth and operational excellence through innovation, diversification and responsible leadership. Pursuant to this vision, OQIC aspires to play a key role in enhancing the bilateral ties between the two countries and becoming a key contributor to Oman’s economic welfare.”

Also, Navin Kumar, CEO of OQIC said, “OQIC’s journey in Oman started in 2004, and the company has grown from strength to strength to where it is today. Building a sound reputation by providing exemplary insurance services in all sectors, OQIC has reflected strong growth and consistent performance. Today, we are proud to announce the opening of our new corporate office in Oman, which stands testimony to our belief in excellence.”

The new corporate office of OQIC is situated in the heart of the business district in Al Khuwair. Reflecting OQIC’s ambition and commitment to the Sultanate of Oman, it provides a harmonious and dynamic environment for people to work and collaborate in. The office hosts in-house training facilities that are focused on continuous learning and development, especially to cater to young Omani nationals. The office is also equipped with a call centre, stateof–the-art meeting facilities and breakout areas.

Alongside the opening of the new corporate headquarters, the dignitaries also unveiled a commemorative plaque marking the opening of a modern retail branch in Maabella that has been designed to provide customers with a welcoming experience. With the opening of the Maabella branch, OQIC will now have 10 full-service branches across Oman.

The opening ceremony also served as the launchpad of a revolutionary new policy issuance and delivery service, called Insurance-on-Call. Signaling the launch of this unique service, Omani nationals, who have been appointed as Insurance-On-Call representatives, were handed over their sales kits by dignitaries present at the event.

OQIC has always believed in continuous innovation and making it easier for customers to avail personalised services. Insuranceon-Call takes customer service to a new level, enabling customers to receive insurance solutions delivered to them at their convenient time and place, wherever they are. Now customers can simply call 80067421 to reserve an appointment or visit oqic-insured.com and enter the preferred time and meeting place.

Designed to provide added convenience to customers, the newly launched service assists customers with providing bespoke advice and assistance – from selecting the most suited additional covers to buying or renewing personal insurances. In addition, the service includes assistance with registering and managing motor insurance claims.

Elaborating on the rationale for the product, CEO of OQIC Navin Kumar noted, “Introduction of the Insurance-On-Call service comes in as a natural extension to our leading online platform. While exploring customer needs, we observed that even though a large share of our customers choose the convenience of online shopping, some still prefer human interaction. They want to meet and talk to an agent to learn about the details of the products. As a direct response to this trend, we have introduced this service so that our agents can arrange meetings with our customers at their convenience and preferred location.

“Launching this new service in Oman demonstrates our passion to introduce innovative services in the marketplace. It is also a testament to how we match our customers’ priorities and preferences with our bespoke services,” added Navin.
