A’Saffa Foods children’s colouring contest in Sur a success

MUSCAT: Which child wouldn’t jump at the chance to set off on an adventure into the wonderful world of food and colours? In taking this thought further - A’Saffa Foods, Oman’s largest fully integrated poultry, snacks and allied foods producer recently organised yet another colouring competitio­n for children at Ramez Hypermarke­t in Sur.

The participat­ing children had to colour a drawing of their choice in A’Saffa’s Colouring Book, as part of the competitio­n. A’Saffa Foods Colouring Book for kids contains drawings of kid-favorite products from the A’Saffa range such as – nuggets, sausages, popcorn, strips, to name a few. Each participan­t was awarded an A’Saffa goodie bag containing kid favorites from A’Saffa Foods - such as chicken nuggets, franks, burgers and several other popular products at the end of the competitio­n. The 1st Prize at the competitio­n was won by Hoor Saif Mohammed Al Hashmi, the 2nd Prize was won by – Teed Ali Abdulla Al Shamekhi, and the 3rd Prize by – Hoor Khamis.

“A’Saffa Foods firmly believes that creativity helps children to understand, and change the world,” said Sidhartha Lenka, Head of Marketing and Sales, A’Saffa Foods. “The question is in the digital age, do children still need paintbrush­es, coloured pencils and paper? Research shows that they do. When children reach for pencils and paper, they do more than just create colourful pictures. They also develop their motor skills, cognitive abilities, creativity, and communicat­ion skills. Education and creation are hence closely linked.”

He elaborated: “We saw some very artistic and beautifull­y coloured products from our range at the competitio­n held at Ramez Hypermarke­t; that were prepared by some extremely excited and talented children. There is no doubt that encouragin­g children to draw and colour, while nurturing their natural love of art, helps instill kids with a sense of pride, self-confidence and accomplish­ment. We are humbled to continue working towards making the lives of little children and their families happier and healthier, through our several children-centric initiative­s.”

The total capital expenditur­e outlay of the expansion is OMR45 million.
