Sarco register big win against OCT Amerat

MUSCAT: Rakesh Patel and Sathisha Achary steered Sarco to a big 8-wicket win against OCT Amerat in a B Division match at Muscat Municipali­ty ground 1 in Amerat on Friday.

Batting first, OCT Amerat was dismissed for a paltry 110 in 26 overs. Only Issa Mohammed Al Balushi (36 off 44) and Aiman Khalid Al Sabri (unbeaten 23 off 22) made any noteworthy scores. Rakesh was the pick of Sarco bowlers taking 4 for 33 while captain Zahid Hafiz bagged 3 for 13.

Sarco surpassed the small total in just 10.3 overs, scoring 112 for 2 thanks to Sathisha’s unbeaten 53 off 30 balls. Abrar Hussain (29 off 14) and Rakesh (23 off 15) were the other notable scorers.

SAS & Partners win

Shamsudhee­n Shareef and Ilyas Afreedi were the heroes of SAS & Partners’ 8-wickets victory against Mott MacDonald in a C Division game at Muscat Municipali­ty ground 2.

Mott MacDonald posted a robust 184 for 7 in 20 overs thanks to Prasanth Ganapathy’s unbeaten 31 off only 12 balls and Sagar Ingle’s run-aball 24 at the top of the order. Shamsudhee­n claimed 3 for 29 while Shahid Mahmood took 2 for 31.

SAS & Partners batted even better, racing to the target in the 17th over, scoring 188 for 2 thanks to superb 67 not out by Ilyas and unbeaten 64 by Shamsudhee­n who were involved in an unbroken 131run partnershi­p for the 3rd wicket.

Brief scores: Mott MacDonald 184 for 7 in 20 overs (Prasanth Ganapathay 31 not out – 2x4, 3x6, Sagar Ingle 24 – 4x4. Shamsudhee­n Shareef 3-29, Shahid Mahmood 2-31) lost to SAS & Partners 188 for 2 in 16.2 overs (Ilyas Afreedi 67 not out – 6x4, 3x6, Shamsudhee­n Shareef 64 not out – 10x4, 1x6) by 8 wickets.

Orient Travels win

Orient Travels GBL scored an exciting 12-run win against Douglas OHI thanks to sterling performanc­es by Usman Asghar and Shoab Mohammed in a D Division clash on Friday.

Orient Travels scored 155 for 6 in 20 overs, Chandra Mouli leading the way with a solid 40. Shoab Mohamed and Ahmed Sameer were the other notable scorers with 34 and 23 not out respective­ly.Naddem Ahmed and Viplav Palai took two wickets each.

Usman Asghar bowled a devastatin­g spell taking 5 wickets for 25 runs as Douglas OHI was dismissed for 143 in the 18th over. Shoab bowled well too, taking 3 for 25.

Brief scores: Orient Travels GBL 155 for 6 in 20 overs (Chandra Mouli 40 – 4x4, Shoab Mohammed 34 – 3x4, 1x6, Ahmed Sameer 23 not out – 3x4. Nadeem Ahmed 2-34, Viplav Palai 2-40) defeated Douglas OHI 143 all out in 17.5 overs (Abhishek Rai 51 – 4x4, 3x6. Usman Asghar 5-25, Shoab Mohammed 3-25) by 12 runs.

Saleem shines for Mani Azad

Saleem Salam, who picked up 3 for 27 and scored vital 23 runs, helped Mani Azad Internatio­nal to an easy 6-wicket victory against Majees CT in an F Division game at Muscat Municipali­ty ground 1.

Chasing 131 to win, Mani Azad reached the target in the 19th over, scoring 133 for 4 thanks to useful knocks by Mohsin Ansari (42 not out) Adeel Anwar (32) and Saleem Salam (23)

Sketch Internatio­nal win

Ali Asgar slammed an unbeaten 108 to guide Sketch Internatio­nal to a massive 145-run win over Boshar Olympic Center (BOC) in a G Division match.

Sketch piled up 230 for 3 in 20 overs and then restricted BOC to only 85 for 9 in 20 overs. Ammar Mustafa claimed 3 wickets for 9 runs.

Brief scores: Sketch Internatio­nal 230 for 3 in 20 overs (Ali Asger 108 – 14x4, Manish Bhatia 45 – 7x4) beat BOC 85 for 9 in 20 overs (Tanuj Sivakumar 24 – 2x4. Ammar Mustafa 3-09) by 145 runs.
