Petrogas Rima launches its 10th QHSE Awareness Day 2018

MUSCAT: Petrogas Rima (PGR), a subsidiary of Petrogas E&P, has recently celebrated the 10th QHSE Awareness Day 2018 in Rima under the theme, “Respect is what we expect.”

The QHSE Awareness Day aims at promoting QHSE culture at workplace as well as tackling common health and safety issues. In this regard, PGR has recently received two international certificates, one of which is the Environmental Management System (ISO) certificate and the other is the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (HSE) certificate.

The ceremony started with a blood donation campaign which witnessed a notable success and turnout from employees. The company’s management delivered special speeches introduced by Usama Al Barwani - CEO, followed by Ahmed Al Kharusi – general manager. Al Kharusi said, “We are working to raise awareness about health and safety as well as respect issues among all employees in the company by launching relevant programmes, initiatives and guidelines. We are also organising a number of important events aimed at reinforcing a culture of health and safety, including an annual QHSE Day, which is attended by local experts in the field of quality, health, safety and environment.” The event included several activities covering a wide range of issues such as respect presentation, PGR contractors’ exhibition, outdoor activities, drama as well as an open discussion about the theme presented by Lecturer and Mentoring Expert Sheikh Salim Al Namani and the Omani media presenter Khalid Al Zadjali.

It is noteworthy to mention that PGR, since its commencement,has strived to establish firm values in its relationship with the authorities, employees, partners, contractors and the community.
