MSM index ends lower

The top gainer of the day was Al Omaniya Financial Services, up by 9.49 per cent

MUSCAT: The MSM30 index ended lower to close at 4386.87 points, down by 0.14 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 601.65 points, up by 0.31 per cent. Bank Dhofar Rights Issue 2018 was the most active in terms of volume while Ooredoo was most active in terms of turnover.

The top gainer of the day was Al Omaniya Financial Services, up by 9.49 per cent while the top loser was Global Financial Investment which closed lower by 4.55 per cent.

A total number of 590 trades were executed during the day’s trading session generating turnover of OMR2.46 million with more than 36.07 million shares changing hands. Out of 37 traded stocks, 11 advanced, 9 declined and 17 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net buyers for OMR632,000, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR44,000 while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR676,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index gained 0.04 per cent to at 6,857.81 points. Al Omaniya Financial Services, Al Anwar Holding, and Gulf Invest Services Holding were up by 9.49 per cent, 4.35 per cent and 1.35 per cent respective­ly. Global Financial Investment, Bank Muscat, and Bank Sohar were down 4.55 per cent, 1.44 per cent and 0.81 per cent respective­ly.

Industrial Index gained 0.38 per cent to close at 5261.43 points. Almaha Ceramics, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Oman Fisheries, and Galfar Engineerin­g were up by 3.5 per cent, 2.6 per cent, 1.43 per cent and 1.08 per cent respective­ly. Raysut Cement, and Oman Flour Mills were down by 0.99 per cent and 0.58 per cent respective­ly. Services Index lost 0.04 per cent to close at 2349.95 points. Almaha Petroleum Products, Ooredoo, and Al Jazeera Services were up by 1.33 per cent, 1.08 per cent and 0.88 per cent respective­ly.
