Rawya to sponsor handing over event for HM Scouting Cup

MUSCAT: Delegated by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Dr. Rawya bint Saud Al Busaidiyah, Minister of Higher Education will sponsor on Sunday handing over His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Cup for Scouting and Guidance Excellence for the academic year 2017/2018.

The event is being organised by the Ministry of Education and will be held in Al Wuttiyah.

During the Cup’s handing-over ceremony, the Governorate of North Al Batinah will be crowned with the Supreme Scout Cup. As for the winners of the excellence cups, the Governorate of A’Dakhiliyah Scouting Commission came second, the Governorate of South Al Batinah Scouting Commission came third, the Governorate of Musandam Scouting Commission came fourth and the Governorate of Dhofar Scouting Commission came fifth.

The local committees of the Directorates General of Education that won the competition, the scouting units, heads of its boards and leaders will be also honoured.

The North Al Batinah Governorate Scouts and Guides will stage an art performance that express their loyalty and love to the Supreme Scout, His Majesty the Sultan. The performance will also review the progress made by the Omani scouts and guides during the Blessed Renaissance march under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. The operetta will highlight the role of scouts and guides in enhancing national values and the Omani identity.
