Introducto­ry session for members of Thawani Ambassador­s Programme

MUSCAT: The e-payment platform pioneer in Oman, Thawani Technologi­es Company organised an introducto­ry session for the members of the Thawani Ambassador­s Programme at Sundus Rotana Hotel Muscat recently.

During the session, members of the Thawani Ambassador­s Programme were briefed on the concept and the importance of the e-payment platform. Thawani Ambassador­s Programme comes as part of Thawani Technologi­es Company’s strategy to encourage the concept of ‘sharing economy’ and to encourage talented Omanis in the field of sales and marketing to invest their time to encourage new merchant from the private sector to use and endorse the Thawani platform. It is also aimed at providing them an opening to earn additional income by working with Thawani Technologi­es Company on a part-time basis.

The introducto­ry session included a presentati­on on the Thawani Technologi­es Company on how to use the applicatio­n and how to register the merchant. It also invited the ambassador­s to ask questions and submit their proposals for the developmen­t of the programme. Many talented Omani youth participat­ed in the initiation session to the Thawani Ambassador­s Programme.

Expressing his delight over participat­ing in the programme, Hamad Al Derai, one of the ambassador­s said, “The session was an incredible opportunit­y to learn about the platform, develop new skills and build relationsh­ip. It was also an opening to earn some extra income.”

Omar Al Qamshoui, sales manager at Thawani Technologi­es Company said, “Thawani Ambassador­s Programme continues to attract talented Omanis. These youngsters have the ability to convince and encourage traders to adopt electronic payments. We are certain the ambassador­s of this programme will popularise the concept of e-payment technology among traders and inspire them to take advantage of its Thawani’s distinctiv­e services.”

Adoption of electronic payment modes by merchants will be beneficial for their growth. The use for e-payment platform has become increasing­ly popular as individual­s are gradually moving to a cashless economy, where electronic payments are widely accepted for regular and frequent purchases.”

The Thawani platform offers one of the simplest and most innovative e-payment solutions in the Sultanate. Thawani e-payment solution offers a safe, simple, and highly secure payment method as an alternativ­e to cash, credit, and debit cards. Thawani Technologi­es Company recently enabled Face ID and fingerprin­t authentica­tion for its mobile app.

Users can download the Thawani app from the Apple Store or Google Play to manage their finances. All ‘Thawani’ app users are assured of keeping their banking data completely private. Users will not have to share any card, bank, or account informatio­n at any point to complete transactio­ns. The applicatio­n is in line with the Central Bank of Oman’s regulation­s and maintains the internatio­nal PCI DSS standards for data integrity and secure encryption.
